Advertisement & the art of drawing attention
Attention seeker Our attention is the greatest gift for an advertiser. The task of advertising is to draw attention to something, from the Latin advertere , meaning “to turn towards”. Attention can be drawn in two ways. Marketers can either purchase consumer attention or earn it. When marketers pay for an advertisement to appear, they have a sense of ownership and control over its message, location and timing. But if consumers are sharing information about themselves about a brand or organisation, the brand has clearly earned their attention. And our target should always be in earning that attention. If you have a business, of a product or a service, you need people to hear you out. You need people to know that you are there when they are at their hour of requirement. You need a steady growth in consumer attention, even if you already have customers. But they will never be enough for your small business. And because of that you should always be on your toes to keep grabbing th
